Is anyone out there? TechnoGeeks? Anyone? I need some questions, my peeps. Come on… bring it on! Give me a hard one! I can take it!

And I totally meant that in the not-dirty way, just so you know. Pervs.

Possible topics I have swirling in my wacky, TechnoGeeky head:

1. What is podsafe music? Do you have to pay big bucks to use it in your podcasts? And where can I find/buy/download some of those way awesome songs you feature in your videos?

2. How do I backup my blog? And what does that even mean?

3. What is a domain name? How do I buy a domain name? What do I DO with a domain name once I buy it?!

4. Can I purchase a domain name and point it at my existing Blogger or Wordpress blog? How?

5. What are photo sharing sites– like Flickr, Picasa, Shutterfly, and Snapfish– all about? How do they work?

6. How do I watch TV shows and movies I’ve downloaded from iTunes on my television?

7. What is an evite?

8. How do I set up a camera on my computer so I can video chat with my friends?

Phew! Thoughts? Questions? Concerns? Fire away.

Music in this podcast provided by the Podsafe Music Network, with Remember by Black Lab, and Shady by Rayko/KRB.

Oh Technogodess, I come asking for your knowledge. I opened a myspace account to keep up with family and friends and I let one of them manage it for me for a few months before I could get comfy figuring things out. Now that I’m able to move around and make cool things happen on myspace, I get an invite to join facebook. But this time I have no one to navigate for me and I feel a little lost. I meant to “smile” at 1 person and ended up “smiling” at 5 people, but didn’t know how to find out who they ended up being. Can you help those of us out here in cyberspace that want to navigate the social sites but don’t really get it?

    Thanks!

    Hey Cat -

I’d like to hear more about the photo sharing sites. I know about Shutterfly, Snapfish, Winkflash, etc and understand their purpose and how they work (I think). But I’m still a little unclear how Picasa and Flickr work. I have Picasa downloaded on my computer and use it for photo editing off-line, but don’t use the online features at all (I assume I can somehow share my photos online and maybe order them as well using Picasa?). Shed some light!

    Thanks,
    Deanne

    Hiya Cat!

I have 2 questions: How do I put little pictures next to the comments made on my Wordpress blog? Ahem…like yours of course, but not Veronica Mars. ‘Cuz I’ve never seen it and it makes it hard to like something if ya’ve never seen it before. But Smallville pictures (avatars?) would be AWESOME. And….um….Oh, how do I post pics to the sidebar of my wordpress site? Anything else you decide to do a techno-geekery show would be awesome, especially about the music. Because iTunes? What a rip-off!!!

    Hope you feel better soon,
    Super Sarah Ann

Here’s my burning question…I am stupid and have not been great at backing up my computers. I have both PC’s (GASP…I know!) and my macbook. Timemachine sounds like a great idea but that doesn’t help my PC’s. I also like the idea of Timecapsule but not helpful for my PC’s. Any ideas? Buying a WesternDigital hardrive or backing up online? Both? What do we do if we are on a limited budget and can’t afford for mega space out there on the net?
Answer this burning question for me? Thanks Cat!
