I donot understand rss feeds. are they supposed to work like itunes? where it automatically uploads and syncs when there is a new “mail”? Please point me to a kindergarten explanation. Please.

Hi, fmlyons! Not to toot my very own horn or anything, but try my 2nd TG vidcast: RSS Feeds… What are they good for?
RSS means Really Simple Syndication (among other things), and RSS feeds allow you to retrieve the latest content from the websites you are interested in. A lot of people use web-based feed readers like Google Reader, My Yahoo, and Bloglines.
iTunes is essentially one big RSS feed reader (or aggregator), meaning it gathers all the shows/podcasts you enjoy into one place for you, so they are easy to find.
